2017年1月9日，韩国国民大学Yeong-Min Jang教授应徐正元教授邀请做了一场题为“Standardization Status and Applications of IEEE 802.15.7m OWC TG ”的学术报告。报告会由龚晨教授主持，共50余名师生参加。此次报告会得到了“中科院无线光电通信重点实验室系列讲座”的支持，由中科大信息科学技术学院、中科院无线光电通信重点实验室承办。

在报告中，Yeong-Min Jang教授首先指出无线光通信（OWC）具有带宽和安全等优势，是5G无线通信中极具应用前景的技术之一。与此同时，在无线光通信技术中，图像传感器通信（ISC）已被纳入IEEE 802.15.7m OWC TG协议标准的制定中。随后，Yeong-Min Jang教授回顾了IEEE 802.15.7m OWC TG历史，并详细介绍了有关图像传感器通信的研究及应用。最后，Yeong-Min Jang教授提出了一种新颖的基于现有LED灯和传统摄像头的车辆通信调制技术。报告结束后，Yeong-Min Jang教授与在座的老师和同学们进行了深入的交流，达到了学术交流迸发思想的目的。

报告人介绍：

Yeong Min Jang received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electronics Engineering from Kyungpook National University, Korea, in 1985 and 1987, respectively. He received the doctoral degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, USA, in 1999. Since September 2002, he has been with the School of Electrical Engineering, Kookmin University, Seoul, Korea. He had served as the executive director of KICS (Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences) in 2006-2014 and the vice president of KICS in 2015-2016. Currently he is the auditor of KICS and the president of OSIA (Open Standards and Internet Association). He is currently serving as the Chairman of IEEE 802.15.7m OWC Task Group and the Chairman of IEEE 802.15 VAT (Vehicular Assistant Technology) Interest Group. His research interests include 5G/Optical wireless/Image sensor communications and internet of things.
