2017年6月12日，上海交通大学陶梅霞教授应徐正元教授邀请做了一场题为“Coded Caching in Wireless Networks”的学术报告。报告会由龚晨教授主持，共50余名师生参加。此次报告会得到了“中科院无线光电通信重点实验室系列讲座”的支持，由中科大信息科学技术学院、中科院无线光电通信重点实验室承办。

在报告中，陶梅霞教授首先指出目前无线网络中存在内容重复导致的网络拥塞问题。由此引出无线缓存的概念，主要包括以下四个特征：1. 带传输的内容已生成；2. 不同用户可在不同时间访问；3. 可预测的需求分布；4. 网络设备丰富的存储资源。随后，陶梅霞教授详细介绍了在终端或基站分别做编码缓存时的优势，可拉近用户与资源间距离，减少访问时间，缓解网络压力。最后，陶梅霞教授展示了在收、发端同时做编码缓存所取得的研究进展与成果。报告结束后，陶梅霞教授与在座的老师和同学们进行了深入的交流，达到了学术交流迸发思想的目的。

报告人介绍：

Meixia Tao received the B.S. degree from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2003. She is currently a Professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Prior to that, she was a Member of Professional Staff at Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute during 2003-2004, and a Teaching Fellow then an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore from 2004 to 2007. Her current research interests include content-centric wireless networks, wireless caching and multicasting, resource allocation, and interference coordination.

Dr. Tao is currently serving as a member of the Executive Editorial Committee of the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications. Dr. Tao is the recipient of the IEEE Heinrich Hertz Award for Best Communications Letters in 2013 and the IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2009. She also receives the best paper awards from IEEE/CIC ICCC 2015 and IEEE WCSP 2012.
