2018年6月1日,塞萨洛尼基亚里士多德大学George K. Karagiannidis教授应徐正元教授邀请做了一场题为“RF versus Lightwave Wireless Power Transfer: Challenges and Ongoing Research”的学术报告。报告会由徐正元教授主持,共50余名师生参加。此次报告会得到了“中科院无线光电通信重点实验室系列讲座”的支持,由中科大信息科学技术学院、中科院无线光电通信重点实验室承办。
在报告中,Karagiannidis教授首先指出无线能量传输(WPT)是一种颠覆性的技术,其可以延长能量受限设备的寿命,从而广泛应用于物联网中。随后,Karagiannidis教授介绍了远场WPT是基于电磁波的传播,包括无线电频率(RF)和光波。但光波WPT与RF有本质上的不同,包括信道特性,传输/接收设备,和能量收集(EH)模型上的差异等。光波WPT面临着许多新的挑战,包括如何提高EH效率,优化设计光学设备,以及支持多用户场景等。最后,Karagiannidis教授对比了光波信息和能量传输(SLIPT)和相应基于RF的技术,同时也提出了未来相关研究方向。报告结束后,Karagiannidis教授与在座的老师和同学们进行了深入的交流,达到了学术交流迸发思想的目的。
报告人介绍:
George K. Karagiannidis is an IEEE Fellow, and a Professor in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He is also Honorary Professor at Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China and recipient of the Grant High-End Foreign Experts of the Chinese Government. His research interests are in the broad area of Digital Communications Systems and Signal processing, with emphasis on Wireless Communications, Optical Wireless Communications, Wireless Power Transfer and Applications, Communications for biomedical engineering, Stochastic Processes in Biology and Wireless Security. He is author or co-author of more than 450 technical papers and the book “Advanced Optical Wireless Communications Systems”, Cambridge University Press, 2012. He was Editor of different IEEE journals and was the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Communications Letters from 2012 to 2015. He is one of the highly-cited researchers across all areas of Electrical Engineering, recognized as 2015, 2016 and 2017 Thomson Reuters highly-cited researcher.
